Entries from January 2007
Yes, I’ve joined the bandwagon and mine is done! It was in fact finished last year. I just took a long time to wash and block it. In fact, I tried wearing it before blocking and didn’t like it much. The yarn shed like you wouldn’t believe!

It’s a Metrostitchers tradition to start a new project each New Year. I’ve been so re-missed to start on my new year start. But no more. I also wanted something French to work on during the holidays when my friend Theresa went to Paris for her holidays. I managed to work through the holiday season. [...]

I’ve always had a soft spot for the work of Jean-Jacques Sempé [English]. I first became a fan in my Grade 11 French Class where we read some stories of Les Petit Nicholas. Other than Les Petit Nicholas, he has published many other works which I only became familiar with after my first trip to [...]

Anyone who has looked at my Books Read page will have seen that in the past few years I’ve been reading some Japanese novels in translation. I’ve read some Banana Yoshimoto, I’ve read some Haraki Murakami, but while they were good, I didn’t get really into it. I’m really much better at reading mysteries. [...]

I’ve been having a troublesome time with my hands since last week. Been living consistently on my favorite pain killer. I’ve also been reading, but computer time, craft time has been cut down considerablely to rest my hands.
Coming up soon, bunch of book… and for now, this great collection of links to tutorials on AJAX, [...]

The thrill of victory, the agony of the hands.*
All the stripes are pieced together, ends weaved in. The border has been picked up and knitted (one border did twice since I wasn’t happy with how it looked.) All the ends are weaved in and the Blanket is now in the washing machine.
Next, block [...]

To say that I’ve been lazy and unmotivated to work out and I’ve been sitting around getting fatter. is hitting the nail on the head.
I seriously have not been able to find the routine or the get-up-and-go that I need to get back into shape. I was watching a couple of kids playing the arcade [...]

After working on it most of all Sunday and today, Blanket is now assembled. All in all, the work is done but my lack of experience is showing. It’s far from professional, but it’s the best I could do. The assembly of the blanket created more ends to weave in and it took pain-killers and [...]

So… It’s 6 days until D(elivery) Day for Blanket. There’s no sign that it will be completed in time. I just spent the last 4.5 hours weaving in ends.
I know I’m crazy. But now that it’s crunch time, I’m feeling the motivation and the panic to finish. I’m still optimistic. I’m also spurred on to [...]

I’ve been finding it hard to find time to do some cross-stitching lately. I can’t really figure out a reason why. I think it’s partly the lack of motivation.
I’ve been meaning to start a new project as a New Year Start but cannot get around to doing it either. At least For that, [...]

In the past few days, there’s been two big news items in my blog world news cycle.

Apple’s iphone being reported by just about every tech related site out there. This is just a snippit of coverage from the blogs I read: Blue Flavor, Reaction!, Carsonified!, hicksdesign, Signal vs Noise, Subtraction, JeffCroft.com, etc. etc.

Thanks for coming over from the old blog.
I’ve been wanting to set up my own domain for a long time. There’s really no point in having my own domain if it doesn’t have content!
So, it was finally time to set it all up.
When I first got into blogging I wanted different blogs for different [...]
