When I lived in NY, I saw many organizations asking for old cell phones to be dropped off for battered women charities etc.
I don’t get out much these days in Toronto, as I work at home and most of my hobbies are home-centric. I haven’t seen any of those drop off boxes, and I have an old working cell phone that I’d like to donate to someone in need.
Turns out, there is a Canadian program that uses cell phones to help phone banks: Phones For Food
Go to the website, print out mailing label and drop in the mail box, or go to a drop off location and drop off your phone.
All ready to go.

I think it is a great idea I have a small box full of old cell phones I would gladly give or drop off somewhere. Tell me more about this program.
Anyone interested in this program further should visit http://www.phonesforfood.com and search for drop off locations or download a mailing print label.
