Yahoo! Photos is closing. Not too surprising given their acquisition of Flickr from a while back. [via]
While I think it’s a better idea to integrate all the photos to flickr for their customers to try, their current approach is more user centric and will let you decide what you want to do with the photos. You can move them, download them, or just let Yahoo! delete them. But if you’ve got some photos there, or think you might have, go to the Yahoo! Photos site and find out.

What are my options if I want to keep my photos?
Of course, being a fan and user of flickr, I’d recommend giving them a try. And yes, I still use and love snapfish, but only for photos I print. The interface, community and features of flickr is much better for photo sharing and storage in general.
Updated:
I didn’t define a time line in my posting here, the FAQ is saying that the last days are scheduled for the end of summer. Keep an eye on the date in the FAQ: When is Yahoo! Photos closing?
Looks like international customers and customers using Yahoo! Photos with other companies in packages of a yahoo rebrand are not immediately affected.

Thanks for the reminder that they even exist!!! I had totally forgotten about Yahoo Photos. I used them years ago and assumed that they must have deleted my files by now since it’s been so long since I logged on, but I just logged on and they are still there. So now I can save them…
