Until it’s back*. I have been without my ergonomic Kinesis keyboard ever since I left my previous work.(One of the only things I really wanted to take with me from my office.) This keyboard was a godsend, to the company and myself. After-all, I would have never been able to put in those ridiculously long hours without it given my RSI symptoms. I’m happy report that I finally purchased one for my own work computers now. I’m beyond happy.
The first time I adjusted to using the keyboard was nearly the 5 days it reportedly takes. This time around, I jumped in, swimmingly along. Yes, there’s some adjustment since now I’m using the keyboard with a MAC when I used to use it for Unix/windows. So, a few key placement changes, but for the most part, I’m doing pretty well with it I think.
On the note of something funny that a touch typist will be able to live with and took a few minutes to notice:
On the side of good customer service, the store I bought it from will be sending me the missing keys to replace the mislabelled ones.
My hands are breathing a sigh of relief. And Yes, for anyone who touch type, or come close enough to touch typing and is looking for an ergonomic keyboard, I’d recommend this one. The added advantage to your hand feeling better, you can almost guarantee that no one will be borrowing your computer to use when you’re not around.
*The saying goes I think: “You don’t know what you’re missing until it’s gone.” but in this case, that didn’t really apply, I missed it, but it wasn’t until I got it back that I realized how much I missed it when it was gone.
