Knitscene in my little hands

June 19th, 2007 by May

So, I didn’t have to wait until the 25th after all. Went to Romni Wool and got myself one of the few copies they had.

While I was there, I went and checked out their lace-weight selection and was saddened that they only had two types of lace-weight yarns: Misti Alpaca Lace and the Fiddlesticks Knitting repackage of 2oz Zephyr. I really was hoping for some more selection. I’ll be getting myself some Zephyr, but for now, I’ve put in an order at The Loopy Ewe for some Lane Borgosesia.

Ravelry is a dangerous influence on my spending. But then again, I might have wanted to spend $38/skein on Handmaiden Sea Silk and well, at least now for the same price I can get 2 projects worth of yarn instead of 1/3 of a project. I’ll save Sea Silk when I really want to treat myself and have more money in hand.

I’m off to read my magazine and do some knitting.

That thread on Ravelry made me do it, too! I have an order of Borgosesia from The Loopy Ewe on its way. Still haven’t tried the Zephyr, though. Next order. :)

That Cashwool is amazing! The Metrostitchers found it at Yarns Down Under at least a year ago – the yardage! The price! The softness! I got some lovely cream. Then I saw it at Little Knits and got black, blue, and grey…
