Stuck-o-rama

July 28th, 2007 3 Comments

There’s a certain kind of stuck that if you had friends around, you’d be out in two seconds, but when you are alone, You stay stuck.
Then there’s the kind of stuck that if you don’t have friends around, you’ll get out of, but those around you tends to pull you down.
My cross-stitch is having a [...]

Mustard!

Theresa recently informed me of this nice saying. The origins, of course, is it’s relation to the Keen’s mustard.
Got me thinking about how much I used to l like it on my hot-dogs and if it was still sold. Started to keep my eyes open at the grocery store. At the Loblaws, it [...]

Fake Isle Hat nearly finished

July 25th, 2007 4 Comments

It’s not washed and blocked yet. I have no idea how to block it demi-spherically. I’m at a little bit of a loss there. Once I figure it out, then it’ll be finally finished.
Slow going on everything this past week as I’m just under the weather. Doing some of the more mindless knitting and [...]

The mentor everyone needs

July 20th, 2007 2 Comments

I’ve just finished reading The 5 Patterns of Extraordinary Careers: The Guide for Achieving Success and Satisfaction (Crown Business Briefings)

I took my time reading it and was trying to digest the message as deeply I could. It’s now a prized book in my collection. I wish it was there for me at the beginning of [...]

MS3 Clue 3

July 19th, 2007 No Comments

We seem to have no imagination. I love knitting it. But at the end of each clue, I have G look at it with me and see if we see anything that would suggest the theme. So far, zippo for me and G think it looks a little like a ship at sea.

My favorite new [...]

Needles and the patch

July 18th, 2007 2 Comments

I made it.
At least 24 hours without going on Ravelry. I desperately needed to prove that I could do it. I found that I did have time for more work and more knitting. But I also found it so boring. I’ve had a taste of the good stuff and I’m not willing to let [...]

My Name is May, and I’m a Ravelry addict

July 17th, 2007 3 Comments

I think I’ve had it. I didn’t realize how badly I’ve been hooked. I’ve been thinking that that I could stop anytime I want. I was wrong. Very wrong. Very very wrong.
I’ve been giving up crafting hours for hours and hours of ravelry.
I thought I could stop anytime.
I needed to prove it. I [...]

MS3 Clue 2

July 11th, 2007 2 Comments

Here’s the completed Clue 2 which I stayed up late last night knitting because I didn’t want to stop. A slight bit of trouble with row 141 where my brain hiccupped and did not want to co-operate. Knitting it two or three times seems to have jumped started things.

The pain from now on [...]

MS3 lace knitting tips from a newbie

July 10th, 2007 2 Comments

I’ve been doing well enough with my knitting on MS3 so far, here are some tips that’s helping me keep my place:

I count on the WS row to make sure I haven’t dropped any stitches. If I have, I only have to tink back one row to fix them.
I taped the charts so that left [...]

Learning the History of (Some) Lace

July 9th, 2007 No Comments

I’ve been slowly getting more interested in lace. From the small lace patterns I’ve been doing in socks and blankets I wanted to explore more yo knitting. It was time to look at some lace in bigger projects. I’m not sure I’d wear the creations but I do love the idea of making them.
I wanted [...]

MS3 Clue 1

July 5th, 2007 1 Comment

Here’s some new photos demonstrating the progress.
I really wanted to work on it during Holiday Monday, but didn’t get to since I was hurting more than usual with RSI pains. So, took a mini-break from knitting and stitching.
After Sunday:

Progress continued on Tuesday where I managed to cross the Clue 1 finish line.

Yay [...]

I put on the hat to try on and make sure it wasn’t too tight, and of course, had to show G, and of course, he had to take a photo. So, here’s a funny photo for July 4th. Happy Independence Day to those south of the 49th parallel.

After winding up the yarn on Friday, it was time to get started on MS3 since I had all my tools and supplies. We moved some furniture onto the balcony and I sat and knitted while G studied on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

This is my first Knit-a-long (KAL) and my first real big lace [...]

I got my order of lace yarn from The Loopy Ewe in the mail on Friday. It was just in time for the first day of Mystery Stole 3.

The yarn has great feel and the colours are exactly what I saw online and expected. Perfect. I’m so going to order more yarn [...]
