Fake Isle Hat nearly finished

July 25th, 2007 by May

It’s not washed and blocked yet. I have no idea how to block it demi-spherically. I’m at a little bit of a loss there. Once I figure it out, then it’ll be finally finished.

Slow going on everything this past week as I’m just under the weather. Doing some of the more mindless knitting and swatching. It should bring me closer to a completed sweater, but nothing much to show and MS3 progress lingers even though I’m not reading HP7 with the rest of the world.

Wow, I thought I was the only knitter who wasn’t reading HP? The hat looks great, I usually block my hats on a bowl or an upside-down vase and it seems to work out ok!

I was going to suggest a bowl – or perhaps a balloon? You could blow up the balloon and keep measuring it till the diameter matched the head of the wearer?

    I finished HP on Saturday.

The hat is gorgeous — the colors are wonderful with the pattern! A balloon is a good idea, Alison…
