Went to Lettuce Knit yesterday to pick up the silk thread that was put aside for me earlier in the week.
It wasn’t until I got home that I realized that it’s not Silk Thread but Silk Thread II! It’s got a little less yardage so now I’m not sure if I’ve enough for Simurgh.
I went and got in touch with Blue Moon Fiber Arts immediately to ask about the yarn. Turns out it’s not on the website but it’s sold only at some retailers. It’s slightly thicker ply but still from the same source. It’s just too beautiful to return for exchange. I’m going to keep it, and I’ll have to check with some folks who’s made Simurgh to see if 125 yards will matter. I might email Anne about it as well.
I know this yarn is not the yarn the pattern calls for… if it doesn’t work out, I’m going to have to find something else for it. For a change, this yarn I’m going to keep for myself whatever project I end up using it for. I really love the colorway – Grawk. Beautiful Greens in it. Next one I get may be Ravencroft, which has more green.
And over all, it was a strange feeling to enter a new BMFA yarn on ravelry since the line is so popular, but no silk thread II until mine it would seem.

Pretty shawl and the silk looks scrumptious.
