ALA announces approval of Library Support Staff Certification (LSSC)
I think it’s a great idea and should give more respect to paraprofessionals and make sure staff have similar skills across the board. Especially important these days since so many jobs previously would have been done by librarians are now being staffed by paraprofessionals. However, I wonder if this would be welcome by the profession.
Btw, I also support the idea of certification for professional librarians.
