Pattern:
Cherry Blossom Shawl by Kristin Spurkland from Interweave Knits, Spring 2002
Yarn:
Elegant Yarns Daphne (Sadly, not happy with this yarn at all. Colours are pretty, but the feel was just not great while I knit it. The end product was nice however.)
Needles:
US 5 circulars
Date Started:
June 12, 2009
Date Finished:
July 26, 2009
Modifications:
None
Will I make it again?
Very likely. I’ve been seeing version with Shibui lace which looks lovely and would try again. Hard for me to block however but the knitting was quite enjoyable after getting past chart A.

I made this as part of the Cherry Blossom Shawl KAL on Ravelry. It was fun and so much easier to knit then my other shawl which I love, but is so hard to concentrate on for some reason. Must be the fact that repeats of this pattern is small and I can easily memorized it and see problems which makes the knitting fun. I’ve loved this shawl for a long time and it really did take the KAL to get me to start it. After all, I had yarn and pattern and time, so, why not? :)

I’m finally able to show it off now that it’s been delivered in person to Jenny.

I’ve seen that pattern in Ravelry also. It’s really pretty, and I do love that you tried a variegated instead of a solid; makes it a little more dimensional. It’s too bad you didn’t like the yarn! You MUST try alpaca lace one of these days!

Can anyone tell me what color in Daphne Elegant Yarn was used for the Cherry Blossom shawl? It’s the pale (white) varigated shade shown above and I love it.

Harriet: the yarn I have doesn’t have colour names, but the colour number is 05.
