I actually got my YOL project rather quickly this time around. I guess makes up for last time’s seemingly forever delay.
I knew going into this lace club that I wasn’t going to like everything they put out. In fact, the first kit was a bit of a disappointment for me. I didn’t love the pattern [...]

… a sleeve!
The day the pattern came out, I was intrigued. I wanted to make this sweater for kid/baby, but never got to it. It looks so nice as an adult cardigan, I wanted to make it. It went right on my queue.
Next day, there’s a Ravelry group, and intrigued became obsessed.
I went right [...]

The first package for Year of Lace has arrived.
I’m not sure why people are all concerned about spoiling the surprise etc. But just in case.
Cherry Blossom Season
March 25th, 2008 · No Comments
Yes, I spent all last night working out how to do a provincial cast on for the new shawl I planned to cast on. I wound up all the Silk Thread II into a cake without any issues. The colours look even better than in the skein. I timed it, it took 10 minutes.
Here I [...]

Bind off
March 24th, 2008 · No Comments
I’ve just put down my needles on my most recent lace project. Once again, the bind off was the most tedious boring part of the project. I’m so glad it’s done. It’s a triangular shawl which ends on the wide side, so, once again, the piece just grew and grew as I went along.
It’ll [...]
Grawk - Silk Thread II
March 20th, 2008 · 1 Comment
Went to Lettuce Knit yesterday to pick up the silk thread that was put aside for me earlier in the week.
It wasn’t until I got home that I realized that it’s not Silk Thread but Silk Thread II! It’s got a little less yardage so now I’m not sure if I’ve enough for Simurgh.
I went [...]

Malabrigo Yarn Lace in Snowbird
Needles:
US 4 / 3.5 mm

January 25, 2008

The pattern calls for a slight thicker yarn, so my scarf would be much smaller than stated, less shawl, more scarf. I knew from the yardage of the yarn, I had the yardage to [...]

The pain!
January 28th, 2008 · 3 Comments
I’ve finally rediscovered my love of lace knitting. I have been working, and fighting Hanami for months. Most of the time I’m so frustrated with the experience that it’s been hibernating more than WIP. I started to think that I no longer love lace or that my skills are much lacking. So, to test out [...]
Dayflower Camisole
January 14th, 2008 · 9 Comments
2007 was when I really first discovered and fell for lace knitting. However, most of the beautiful lace projects are shawls and wraps which I see little chance to wear. The lace-weight yarns also makes for difficult tv knitting as I find that I need extreme concentration. So, I went looking for lace projects which [...]

Just might be the prettiest sock I’ve ever made.

I’ve been knitting, as well as stitching! But haven’t been feeling up to any photography or updating the sidebar of projects.
Next on my list, catching [...]

So I’ll wing it
August 21st, 2007 · 1 Comment
Yes, I’m beyond behind on MS3. At first, I was right on schedule, but during the weeks of Clue 4, I got distracted, busy, and then went on a little holiday. So, Clue 7 (last clue) has been released and I still haven’t started Clue 5.
End of Clue 4:

MS3 Clue 3
July 19th, 2007 · No Comments
We seem to have no imagination. I love knitting it. But at the end of each clue, I have G look at it with me and see if we see anything that would suggest the theme. So far, zippo for me and G think it looks a little like a ship at sea.
My favorite new [...]
